    Cpl. Matthew Aurello, a marksmanship coach on Parris Island, S.C., assists Rct. Danielle Thacker, Platoon 4025, Papa Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, with her firing technique June 26, 2013. Aurello, 21, from Hilo, Hawaii, helped Thacker, 19, from Canton, Ohio, apply marksmanship fundamentals during her time on the range. Rifle qualification is one of eight graduation requirements recruits must fulfill to become U.S. Marines. Papa Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 2, 2013. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training.
