The District of Columbia National Guard Family Programs hosted a Military Ball at the Westin Alexandria Old Town in Alexandria, Virginia, May 16, 2026, celebrating their continued commitment to readiness, resilience, and mission success. Over the past year, the D.C. National Guard Family Programs team supported more than 10,000 attendees through deployment support, youth outreach, employment assistance, financial readiness initiatives, community events, and emergency support operations — ensuring Joint Task Force District of Columbia, the D.C. National Guard, and their families remained connected, informed, and resilient during a demanding operational tempo. Their work strengthens morale, reduces stress, builds resilience, and helps ensure the force remains ready to answer every mission. The evening also featured Volunteer Appreciation Awards recognizing individuals whose dedication has made a lasting impact on the military community. Mr. Victor Owolabi and Mrs. Tina Ford were honored for their outstanding service and commitment to the Family Readiness Center and the USO within the center.
