U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Daniel Haber, the incoming sergeant major of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, sings the Marines’ Hymn during the 26th MEU relief and appointment ceremony at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., May 12, 2026. Haber relieved Sgt. Maj. Christopher Taylor and assumed the duties of the sergeant major for the unit. The relief and appointment ceremony serves as the official changeover between sergeants major, honoring the outgoing sergeant major’s contributions during his tenure and allowing the oncoming sergeant major to introduce himself to the Marines now under his charge.
