NORFOLK, Virginia (May 5, 2026) Hull Technician 1st Class Joyce Valencia demonstrates a Grade 3 brazing qualification after completing a U53A welding requalification at Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC). Valencia is assigned to Forward Deployed Regional Maintenance Center (FDRMC) Detachment— Rota, Spain. As MARMC prepares for its transition to a partnership with the Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) in June 2026, the command continues to prioritize Sailor development as a cornerstone of fleet readiness.
