Gandalf, a gray eastern screech owl, stands in front of Rusty, a red eastern screech owl in their cage at Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary at Hubert, N.C., May 22. Rusty was hit by a car on 2006, leaving him with an injured wing and eye. Gandalf was also hit by a car and suffered extensive injuries.
