More than two centuries after their deaths, three early American military heroes have not been forgotten: U.S. Marine Corps Capt. James McKnight, brother-in-law of the legendary Commodore Stephen Decatur, who died in Livorno in 1802; U.S. Army Capt. Henry De Butts, who rode alongside Gen. Anthony Wayne at the Battle of Fallen Timbers (1794) and died in Sarzana in 1801; and U.S. Navy Capt.
