Gen. Brian A. Filler, deputy commanding general of JTF-SB, in the San Diego sector along the U.S.-Mexico border in California, April 28, 2026. The visit enabled senior leaders to gain a shared understanding of border security operations and enhance coordination with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
