An honor guard from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department presents the colors during a ceremony at Fairdale Christian Church in Louisville, Ky., April 20, 2026, to recognize first responders from more than 40 agencies who responded to the deadly crash of a cargo plane last year. Eight firefighters from the Kentucky Air National Guard were among the first emergency responders to arrive at the crash site and worked with dozens of others to bring a raging fire under control.
