Members of the Pacific Ocean Division’s Power Planning and Response Team, along with their contractors, installed three generators at critical water facilities on April 20. The sites were identified by the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and mark a major operational milestone for the island’s recovery. The rapid restoration of temporary emergency power was made possible by the swift establishment of a Generator Staging Base at the Saipan Port, facilitated by the territorially lead response and coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
