Family and friends of Coast Guard Cutter Tampa (WMEC 902) await loved ones at Base Portsmouth in Virginia, April 18, 2026, following the crew's 74-day counter-drug patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. In support of Joint Interagency Task Force-South and Operation Pacific Viper, Tampa's crew worked alongside additional Coast Guard units and an embarked Coast Guard Helicopter Interdiction Tactical Squadron aviation detachment to interdict nearly $45 million in illicit narcotics.
