Christopher Mahoney, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, answers to questions asked by students from the Army War College Advanced Strategic Art Program (ASAP) during their visit to the Pentagon, Washington D.C. on 14 April, 2026. Gen. Mahoney spoke about the skills required to be an effective strategic advisor. The five-month curriculum of the ASAP is focused on developing national security professionals who can act as strategic advisors at the highest levels of the joint force and U.S. interagency.
