U.S. Marine Corp Gen. Christopher Mahoney, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, speaks to students and instructors from the Army War College Advanced Strategic Art Program (ASAP) during their visit to the Pentagon, Washington D.C. on 14 April, 2026. The five-month curriculum of the ASAP is focused on developing national security professionals who can act as strategic advisors at the highest levels of the joint force and U.S. interagency. The program uses seminar discussion, guest speakers, case studies, war games, and staff-rides to improve students’ capacity for strategic analysis, problem solving, and both written and oral communication.
