Armed Forces of the Philippines service members, U.S. service members with Civil Military Support Element-Philippines, and personnel from Cagayan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Task Force Lingkod Cagayan, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices, gather following the completion of Medical First Responder training, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines, April 9, 2026. The training, along with a subsequent donation of medical supplies, supported by elements of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, demonstrates the enduring U.S. commitment to our oldest security treaty Ally in the Indo-Pacific region as we mark the 75th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty in 2026. It will enhance disaster management capabilities and enhance self-reliance by providing essential humanitarian assistance and medical supplies to the Cagayan Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction and Management Office.
