U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Leland D. Blanchard II, Commanding General (Interim) of the D.C. National Guard, hosts a recognition breakfast for members of the D.C. Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion (RRB) and the D.C. Air National Guard Recruiting and Retention Flight at the D.C. Armory, April 13, 2026. Recruiters were recognized for their number of enlistments, and a trophy was awarded to the D.C. Air National Guard Recruiting and Retention Flight for achieving the highest number of accessions for the month. U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Matthew F. Blue, Assistant Adjutant General for the District of Columbia National Guard was also in attendance. Recruiters are essential to national defense, serving as frontline ambassadors who identify, screen, and recruit qualified personnel to fill crucial ranks.
