Beeler, capability program executive for Capability Program Executive Simulation, Training, Test and Threat (CPE ST3), receives the CPE ST3 charter from Joseph Welch, Portfolio Acquisition Executive Command and Control/Counter Command and Control (PAE C2/CC2), during a ceremony at the University of Central Florida Dr. Phillips Academic Commons in downtown Orlando, Florida, on April 9, 2026. CPE ST3 is the official name for the previous Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). The name change took place in early February and receiving the charter from the PAE C2/CCS was the most recent step in the organization’s evolution to support the Army’s acquisition reform efforts.
