The Navy Exchange Service Command celebrated 80 years of service to the fleet on April 1, 2026.
Founded in the aftermath of World War II, NEXCOM’s origins were shaped by a simple but essential challenge: how to reliably support the Navy on land and at sea. Pictured from left to right, NEXCOM Command Master Chief Anthony Corey; Joe Box Jr., Vice President, Asset Protection/Safety, NEXCOM; Kaitlyn Buchanan, Operations Floor Planner/Merchandiser, NEXCOM; and retired Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi, Chief Executive Officer, NEXCOM. NEXCOM enables warfighter readiness and strengthens the Navy’s quality of life mission. Providing essential products, services, hospitality and outfitting Navy communities around the globe, NEXCOM is continuously evolving to meet the demands of today’s military operational environment.
