The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District’s Mr. Shin Chang, Engineering Technician with the Quality Assurance Branch, conducted welder and brazer qualification tests for a project under construction on Jan. 30, 2026, at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Participants used Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on thick pipes and brazed 3-inch copper pipes in various positions. Samples were visually inspected and tested through bending, X-ray, and other methods to ensure strength, qualifying workers, certifying processes, and re-certifying those who had not met standards within the past six months.
