Michelle Barry, tribal liaison, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District joined tribal dignitaries, tribal members, housing authority members and community partners during a groundbreaking ceremony for a tribal elder housing project in Concho, Okla., March 19, 2026.
The project will construct four duplexes, providing eight two-bedroom homes for elders in the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal community. Tulsa District is supporting the project through the Tribal Construction Support Program, which leverages technical expertise to support tribal self-determination and capacity building. Through consultation and partnership, projects like this help strengthen communities, build infrastructure and support future generations. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo by Stacey Reese)
