A U.S. Marine aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., plays the role of a casualty during an active shooter exercise aboard the depot on March 17, 2026. The exercise, titled Active Shooter Integrated Response Workshop, simulated an active shooter inside the Marine Corps Exchange, allowing base and community emergency services to test response times and emergency procedures for such an event.
