U.S. Marines with Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., run out of the Marine Corps Exchange to alert Emergency Services that an active shooter is inside during an active shooter exercise aboard the depot on March 17, 2026. The exercise, titled Active Shooter Integrated Response Workshop, simulated an active shooter inside the Marine Corps Exchange, allowing base and community emergency services to test response times and emergency procedures for such an event.
