U.S. Marine Corps aircrew members assigned to Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 364 perform maintenance on the port engine of a MV-22B Osprey at Beale Air Force Base, California, Feb. 10, 2026. The MV-22B and the U.S. Air Force Variant; the CV-22, are powered by two Rolls-Royce turboshaft engines mounted in rotating nacelles. This tiltrotor design allows the aircraft to take off and land vertically as well as transition to horizontal flight which enhances the aircraft’s capability to support a wide variety of missions.
