    A U.S. Army Soldier, a Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear Specialist assigned to the 23rd Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Battalion, 2d Infantry Division Support Brigade, 2d Infantry Division/ROK-US Combined Division, in Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) gear sets up Chemical Biological Radioactive Nuclear specific equipment including a Joint Chemical Agent Detector during the decon support training mission within Freedom Shield 26 on March 12, 2026 in Dagmar North, South Korea. Freedom Shield is an annual combined exercise conducted in support of the ROK-U.S. Mutual Defense Treaty signed in 1953. This combined exercise highlights the ironclad commitment between the two nations to maintain a robust combined defense posture and to defend the people of the ROK and the United States from any threat or adversary.
