Sling load operations are a critical component of military logistics, enabling the rapid transport of supplies, equipment and vehicles using a military aircraft. Operation Freedom Shield 2026 is a combined, joint defensive exercise conducted annually by the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States under the ROK–U.S. Alliance; the exercise strengthens combined readiness, enhances operational command and control, and ensures both nations remain prepared to respond to any threat on the Korean Peninsula.
