U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua Ketcheside, an infantryman assigned to the 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, attempts to establish radio communications during the tactical combat casualty care event on day two of Utah’s Best Warrior Competition at Camp Williams, Utah, March 11, 2026. During the evacuation portion of the event, competitors were tasked with sending a 9-line medical evacuation request; the underground tunnels hampered their ability to send and receive radio communications. Ketcheside uses an access opening to send his 9-line MEDEVAC request. Utah National Guard Best Warrior Competition is an annual event that brings together Soldiers and Airmen from the major commands to compete for the title of Soldier/Airman-of-the-Year, Noncommissioned Officer-of-the-Year, and Senior NCO-of-the-Year.
