A cadet from the University of California- Santa Barbara Army ROTC prepares to release a grenade at the Hand Grenade Assault Course event. The 8th Brigade Army ROTC Ranger Challenge 2026 took place at Fort Hunter- Liggett, California on February 20-21, 2026. 34 teams from Western US states and Guam competed. The top 2 teams, University of Hawaii- Manoa (Black team) and the University of California- Santa Barbara earned the right to represent the Brigade at Sandhurst.
