U.S. Army Spc. Iverson Som, an infantryman with the 181 Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, zeros his weapon during Justified Accord 2026 at the Kenya School of Infantry, Isiolo, Kenya, March 1, 2026. U.S. Soldiers zeroed their weapons by firing multiple shot groups at a target to identify the difference between where their sight is aimed and where the weapon’s rounds impact, allowing them to adjust their sights for accuracy. Training together enabled U.S. Soldiers and Kenya Defence Forces to share tactics and build interoperability, strengthening their ability to operate together during humanitarian assistance, crisis response, and regional security missions.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya and Tanzania, this year's exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Elijah Harris)
