U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ben Krainin, a surgeon assigned to the 173rd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, performs an ultrasound examination on a patient alongside local community medical personnel in support of the Justified Accord 2026 Medical Civic Action Program (MEDCAP) at Laresoro, Kenya, Feb. 27, 2026. U.S. Soldiers and Airmen worked alongside counterparts from the Kenya Defence Forces and local civilian medical teams, to provde primary medical care to local residents. The combined team delivered essential Role 1 care, strengthened partnerships and refined medical skills in an austere environment.
JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force.
