Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) Midshipman 1st Class Danny Hoang phones in from Naval Reactors to select his first ship, USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), during the biannual ship selection event coordinated by Navy Personnel Command (PERS-41) Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) Assignments, Feb. 26. Hoang service selected Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer and will qualify on Mesa Verde prior to attending the nuclear training pipeline.
