U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Bradford J. Gering, the 38th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, gets a demonstration from Lance Cpl. Aden Williams, a combat engineer with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion (1st CEB), 1st Marine Division, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), on how to use a MAX rebar tool during a tour of the southern border barrier in Yuma, Ariz., Feb. 19, 2026. Gering visited JTF-SB Marines operating in the Yuma sector of the southern border to gain enhanced situational awareness of 1st CEB’s operational posture. JTF-SB executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the southern border.
