U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, fire an M1A2 Abrams tank during a combined arms live fire exercise (CALFX), near Tapa, Estonia, Feb. 19, 2026. The CALFX validates crew proficiency, maneuver coordination and weapons systems integration in a realistic training environment. The live fire-event reinforces the squadron’s ability to rapidly identify and engage targets while maintaining combat readiness. Only well-postured, modernized, and interoperable land power can deter competitors and defeat adversaries. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Ariana Smith)
