Nicole Umberger, a security manager for the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Chemical Biological Center, was one 40 DEVCOM employees who participated in the command’s first Mentorship Program. Participants were recognized at a graduation ceremony at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, Jan. 28, 2026. Umberger said the program taught her to “to see a chaotic situation as a chance to step up, rather than a reason to stand still.”
