Sgt. 1st Class Eric Smith, front, and Sgt. Jacob Bradshaw, a 68B, Orthopedic Specialist, successfully completed the rigorous Special Operations Forces Arctic Medic course Jan. 10-27, 2026, at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. As part of the training, Smith and Bradshaw had to learn how to transport a patient using snowshoes or cross-country skis in temperatures that dropped below -30 degrees Fahrenheit.
