U.S. Navy Reserve Sailors honor Purple Heart recipient U.S. Navy veteran Rey Pérez, a former Fleet Marine Force corpsman at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico on February 12, 2026. Pérez, a former Fleet Marine Force corpsman who served from 2001 to 2004, received the Purple Heart during a ceremony hosted by the 1st Mission Support Command in recognition of wounds sustained in combat while serving alongside Marine Corps units.
