Christopher Creaghe, commanding general of the 1st Mission Support Command, presents the Purple Heart to U.S. Navy veteran Rey Pérez, a former Fleet Marine Force (FMF) corpsman (8404), during a ceremony at Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico on February 12, 2026. Pérez, a former Fleet Marine Force corpsman who served from 2001 to 2004, received the Purple Heart during a ceremony hosted by the 1st Mission Support Command in recognition of wounds sustained in combat while serving alongside Marine Corps units.
