James Lux, a 133rd Air Refueling Squadron KC-46A pilot, has his gas mask tested for leaks and communications capabilities by U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Micah Huffman, a 133rd ARS aircrew flight equipment technician, at Pease Air National Guard Base, New Hampshire, Feb. 6, 2026. The test is part of the pre-flight process for generating mission-ready air crews, ensuring all equipment fits and is fully functional. The pre-flight inspection was carried out as part of the wing’s nuclear operational readiness exercise that took place over the February unit training assembly, testing the unit’s ability to generate aerial refueling capability when it matters most.
