(Jan. 23, 2026) Hospital Corspman 2nd Class Malachi Gregory and Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Zachary Merrel, both assigned to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), demonstrate the proper application of a tourniquet to students from local schools during a Stop The Bleed event at the Chesapeake Career Center, Jan. 23, 2025. Stop The Bleed is a Department of Defense public health campaign that aims to teach people skills such as tourniquet application and packing wounds so that they can be first-responders in the event of life-threatening bleeding.
