Good Neighbor in Uijeongbu (GNU) have been volunteering to support U.S. Soldiers in Areas I and II of the Korean Theater of Operations (KTO) for generations. The current president of GNU, Kim Han Ju continues the legacy of service started by his late father Kim Yong Kon, who volunteered in the area from 1978 to 2001. GNU is part of the larger U.S. Forces Korea initiative which aims to promote cross-cultural understanding, strengthen the U.S.-ROK alliance, and enhance the Quality of Life of military service members stationed in the KTO.
