NAVAL AIR FACILITY ATSUGI, Japan (Jan. 21, 2026) - Cmdr. James Beaty (left), executive
officer of Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, Vice Adm. Scott Gray (center-left), Commander, Navy
Installations Command (CNIC), Cmdr. Scott Wieser (center-right), NAF Atsugi’s public works
officer, and Rear Adm. Ian Johnson (right), commander, U.S. Naval Forces / Navy Region
Japan, take a tour of a hanger during a visit to the installation. Gray’s visit focused on CNIC’s
strategic priority to sustain the fleet by maintaining and modernizing the critical infrastructure
that supports global naval operations. NAF Atsugi supports the combat readiness of
Commander, Fleet Air Western Pacific, Commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, Helicopter
Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51 and 23 other tenant commands, and provides logistic
