Thorlin deployed multiple times in support of combat and contingency operations, including two deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, service as the bilateral affairs officer at the U.S. embassy in Kazakhstan, and a deployment to Poland and the Baltic States in support of the NATO European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce mission.
