U.S. Army Soldiers from units across XVIII Airborne Corps compete in a pistol event during the Excellence in Competition (EIC) Program marksmanship program at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Jan. 8, 2026. The pistol course challenged competitors to engage targets from standing, kneeling, and prone positions, reinforcing adaptability and precision under pressure. The annual EIC program increases corps-wide lethality by leveraging Soldiers’ competitive spirit while developing experienced coaches and trainers who support unit marksmanship outside the competitive environment.
