BUSAN, South Korea (December 11, 2025) – Ven Shim San, head monk at Hongbeopsa Temple in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, exchanges gifts with U.S. Navy Sailors from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK) and Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae (CFAC) following a community relations event at the temple, Dec. 11, 2025. The community relations event, in which participants assisted Hongbeopsa Temple prepare food, was arranged by Capt. Leroy Young, CNFK chaplain. CNFK is the U.S. Navy’s representative in the Republic of Korea, providing leadership and expertise in naval matters to improve institutional and operational effectiveness between the two navies and to strengthen collective security efforts in Korea and the region.
