Douglas Hagenbuch, right, commanding officer of Seawolf-class fast-attack submarine USS Seawolf (SSN 21), gives a tour aboard the submarine to Japan’s Minister of Defense Shinjiro Koizumi and other distinguished visitors while on a scheduled port visit at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Dec. 19, 2025. Seawolf, homeported in Silverdale, Washington, and assigned to Submarine Development Squadron 5, is conducting routine operations in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. Commander, Submarine Group 7 directs forward-deployed, combat capable forces across the full spectrum of undersea warfare throughout the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Arabian Sea.
