Leadership aboard the Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine USS California (SSN 781) create a high-five tunnel as the crew departs to greet family and friends during a homecoming celebration as California returns to Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn., Dec. 19, 2025, following a seven-month deployment to the U.S. European Command area of responsibility.
