Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility

Capt. Ryan McCrillis, commander of the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, reviews the results of Kodi Miyamoto’s project during final presentations for the shipyard's student co-op program on Dec. 5, 2025. The Cooperative Education Program is a partnership between the University of Hawaiʻi and PHNSY & IMF that provides engineering students with a semester of invaluable, hands-on shipyard experience. PHNSY & IMF’s mission is to keep the Navy’s fleet “Fit to Fight” by repairing, maintaining, and modernizing the Navy's fast-attack submarines and surface ships. Strategically located in the heart of the Pacific, it is the most comprehensive fleet repair and maintenance facility between the U.S. West Coast and the Far East. (U.S. Navy photo by Kenny Jones)
