A certificate of accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) is showcased on Barrancas Beach, located on Naval Air Station Pensacola, after the hyperbaric chamber at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI) was awarded a Level-1 "With Distinction" accreditation, Nov. 21. The certificate signifies the highest levels of proficiency offered by the UHMS and is a mark of excellence awarded to facilities that continually operate and maintain the highest levels of readiness. The divers knife/tool, long held as a symbol of military divers around the world, represents an operationally ready team equipped with the resolve to protect and go into harms way if ever needed. With five detachments, 12 training centers, and facilities in over 60 locations across the United States, NMOTC provides high impact individual medical training for the Navy, other U.S. armed forces, and allied nations around the globe.
