Personnel from the U.S. Army’s Capability Program Executive Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (CPE STRI), in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, led an assessment of the Reconfigurable Driver Simulator (RDS) developed by Universal Motion Systems (UMS) and the Immersive Tactical Trainer-Container (ITT-C) developed by Thomas Global Systems (TGS) in Orlando, Florida, on Dec. 9-10. This hands-on market research with UMS and TGS and assessment of RDS and ITT-C will help to inform the Army’s future virtual systems acquisitions and interoperability approach to enable training with key multinational partners. CPE STRI is actively engaging with allies, industry, and academia to fast-track the development and fielding of advanced training technologies. This initiative centers on leveraging commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions combined with streamlined contracts, creating a more efficient and accessible process that enables rapid delivery of innovative training solutions to our warfighter.
