Three F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft with Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, conduct a fly over at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Dec. 6, 2025. CVW-5 aircraft and personnel return from being forward-deployed on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) which provided air superiority and all-weather offensive air-to-surface attack capabilities, to maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific.
