Ron Seiblels, a Vietnam War veteran, receives the Governor's Advocacy Award Nov. 25, 2025, during a ceremony held at the monthly meeting of the Military Order of the Purple Heart hosted at American Legion Post 28 in Anchorage, Alaska. Seibles has dedicated his life to serving his nation and his community. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years from 1977 to 1987. As a young Soldier in 1967, he served in Vietnam and was wounded and, after recovery, served one more combat tour. In 1975, Seibles was commissioned as a warrant officer and retired as a chief warrant officer 4 in 1987. His numerous awards also include the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. (Courtesy photo)
