William Guheen, commanding officer of Navy Support Facility Diego Garcia, lays a wreath on a grave at Point Marianne Cemetery during a Remembrance ceremony hosted by British Forces Diego Garcia to honor fallen service members who have died in past conflicts, Nov. 9, 2025. Remembrance Sunday marks the day World War I ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. NSF Diego Garcia’s mission is to provide critical support to U.S. and allied forces forward deployed to the Indian Ocean, while supporting multi-theater forces operating in the CENTCOM, AFRICOM, EUCOM and PACOM areas of responsibilities in support of overseas contingency operations.
