George Minges, debris subject matter expert with the Louisville District, and Ed Boddie, contract specialist with the Wilmington District, speak with Lake Lure Mayor Carol Pritchett during the Lake Lure closeout walk-through on Nov. 18, 2025, in Lake Lure, N.C.

The event commemorated the conclusion of debris cleanup operations that removed more than 1 million cubic yards of storm debris from the lake. The closeout represents a major step in Lake Lure’s long-term recovery and the return of safe, accessible waterways for residents and visitors.
